Weather

Mendocino County is generally moderately warm during the day and cool at night, in the 45-75 degree range. Much of Priceless will be the shade of redwood trees, so expect it to be on the cooler side.

Plan for things getting damp! Redwoods tend to attract a lot of dew overnight.

Key Venue Info

Venue: Camp Navarro

901 Masonite Industrial Road, Navarro, CA 95463

Approximately 2.5-3.5 hours driving time from OAK, SAC, and SFO

(Need a ride? Have room in your car? Coordinate carpools on Discord)

Note about site names: Camp Navarro has names for most areas which appear on the maps and on signposts throughout the venue. To make our lives easier and keep from confusing things, we will be using these names as well. Since most of them are the names of Native Tribes, we have created informational signs so all of us can learn more about the indigenous people of this land.

Food & beverage options:

  • Meals will lovingly be prepared by Convergence. Meal plans must be purchased in advance.
  • Cooking on a camp stove is allowed. You must get your own free permit. Please disconnect the fuel cannister from the stove when not in use.
  • No campfires allowed outside of the provided campfire circle on the Meadow. No cooking over campfires.
  • Camp Navarro will be providing multiple options:
    • Cafe will have an array of hot and cold food and beverage options, plus a small store with ice. Ice may also be purchased there. Open 7am-7pm.
    • Pizza stand will be open 7pm-Midnight.
    • Bars in the Meadow and the Lodge will be open
  • NOTE: Due to Camp Navarro’s alcohol license, you may not bring your own alcohol into the ABV area, which includes the Lodge & surrounding Meadow, including the Meadow Stage.

Plan to pack out your trash. The bins fill up quickly with communal trash, so please use them sparingly and no dumping. Whenever possible, please plan on packing out your own waste.

Potable water available throughout the venue. There are multiple sinks and spigots and all water is potable.

Ice: Available for purchase at the Camp Navarro Cafe.

Toilets, Showers, Portos: Camp Navarro has multiple restrooms with flushing toilets and showers located near cabin, adirondack, and camping areas. We are supplementing these with portos which will be serviced regularly.

No wifi and cell service is poor/nonexistent on site. Cell service is available a 10-minute drive away in Navarro.

Protect the redwoods! Do not hang hammocks or other items from trees without express permission from Priceless Planners.

Smoking is allowed in designated areas only, and not on the dance floor. BYO altoids tin to pack out your extinguished butts. No butts on the ground (that aren’t attached to your body)!

No dogs allowed at this event. If you have a trained service animal, please let us know.

River is present but not large. Large floaties won’t fit. Most of the water is for wading or sitting, with a few swimming holes.

Do not bring a bouncy house for either land or water. You will not be allowed to use it.

Bikes are allowed. The venue is hilly. Please use bike racks, keeping roadways and walkways clear.

This is both an outdoor and indoor party. Meadow Stage and Redwood Stage are outdoors. Lodge Stage is indoors. Most workshops and art will be outdoors. All cabins are either private or used for event staff.

See safety notes below.

Arrival Process

Check In at Gate 1

Please have your tickets (admission, meal plan, parking, etc) ready to be processed quickly upon arrival. We highly encourage printing your tickets; otherwise, make sure you have it downloaded offline on your charged phone. Do not rely on phone reception. You must have a parking pass as well (see the “cars” section below).

Cars: Driving, Unloading, Parking

All parking is onsite! No shuttles! 🎉

Carpooling is strongly encouraged.

Parking passes must be purchased in advance, before arriving on site.

Unload, park, set up camp – in that order. When you reach the unload zones after arrival, unpack your car as quickly as possible so that we can clear the road to let the next batch of people through. Please park close together in the camping unload zones — this improves our traffic flow and wait times — expect our traffic staff to assertively guide you accordingly. Drivers should not be setting up tents etc. at time of unloading, that’s a separate step for other members of your group to do (or you, later).

Limited RV and camper van spaces available in the RV Grove. These spots must be reserved and require an additional fee. Purchase passes through Secret Party. NOTE: People may set up tents in the RV Grove provided they do not obstruct road, driving paths, or walking paths.

EV notes:

  • There are charging stations approx 5 miles away in Philo at the Blind Pig and at Handley Cellars.
  • There are no dedicated EV chargers at Camp Navarro.
  • If your car has a “Cabin Overheat Protection” feature activated, it may drain your battery if left in the heat for a few days. Plan to arrive to Priceless with a bare minimum of 30% battery remaining just in case.

Camping

It’s shady! Camping in the shade is the norm throughout Camp Navarro. In fact, you may not find sufficient sun to recharge solar items so plan ahead.

Where to camp:

You are permitted to camp in all areas with cabins, adirondacks, and teepees, as well as in most of the surrounding glens. Set up in any open area, as long as you keep roads and walkways clear. Generally stay together and keep an eye out for “no camping” signs. This is not a place for remote camping.

Do not camp in Redwood Cathedral, River Grove, Lodge Meadow, or River Meadow.

Hopi will be designated quiet camping. Please keep it down 10pm-8am, and at no time blast amplified music or otherwise be loud.

Kids & Kidsville

All children must have a ticket. Use your Secret Party account to add a ticket for each child under 18.

We have a Child Waiver that parents/guardians will need to complete for each child under 18. Please plan to print, sign and submit at Belden arrival the waiver.

CHILD SAFETY:

In general, it’s important to keep an eye on your kids or make sure another responsible adult is. Kids should be within sight of a responsible adult at all times so that if there are any problems, other folks can easily find somebody who knows who the kid is. This is extra important at the river! Review How to Kids at Priceless and Kids for more info. A past camper parent also created this Priceless Water Safety guide.

Kidsville will be in and around Cabins 1-7, teepees 12-18, and behind the Art Barn.

Kidsville is a camping area at Priceless that has a common shaded play area. Anyone who is associated with a kid is welcome to camp at Kidsville as long as your can handle early morning kid noise! Families also have access to a respite cabin with air conditioning, for children to use to take naps during the day when needed (it is a small shared space for all families!).

To participate in Kidsville please email kids@pricelessfestival.org

RVs and Campervans

There will be designated times for RVs and CVs to arrive and each must be placed by the staff. You can arrive during regular arrival times, but it can significantly increase your placement time.  Please check your email from the RV/CV coordinator for details.

Not all spots have power. There is no dumping on site.

Note that the RV Grove is very shady. Keep this in mind if you usually rely on solar power.

Food Planning

Convergence, our food vendor, provides delicious, healthy food, including vegetarian, vegan, and gluten-free options available for every meal. Meal plan is optional, but cannot be purchased on site. Safety Notes

We’re all safer when we all look out for each other. Also, we will have professionals on site.

The MARS Medical team will be available throughout the event at the Lodge or via radio. Please bring ALL MEDICAL CONCERNS to MARS for triage. MARS is a trusted and confidential resource.

High Rock Security will be available throughout the event at the Gates and via radio. High Rock is a part of the community and has taken care of many festivals. They should be considered a resource and a source of support.

If you have any safety concerns, find someone with a radio. They can either help or find someone who can.

We have immune-compromised people in our community (e.g., auto-immune, cancer treatments, pregnancy), and all of us have responsibility for keeping them safe. For at least a week before the event, take steps to minimize your exposure to any transmissible disease.

Stay home if you or anyone in your household has any of the following symptoms:

  • Fever, chills or sweats
  • Cough or shortness of breath
  • Unusual fatigue
  • Muscle or body aches
  • Sore throat
  • Congestion or runny nose (without clear other explanation, such as allergies)
  • Nausea, vomiting or diarrhea

FIRE!

Even though Mendocino county tends to stay cool and damp, fire is always a concern. Fire safety guidelines:

  • Take extreme care with camp stoves (get a permit at https://www.readyforwildfire.org/)
  • No personal camp fires (enjoy the big one by the Meadow Stage!)
  • No smoking except in designated areas
  • Carry a case for fully-extinguished butts
  • Having a fire extinguisher is recommended
  • A fire extinguisher is required by every generator
  • No personal generators, including for art projects & RVs
  • Familiarize yourself with the location and use of available fire extinguishers

CRITTERS!

Yay for nature! Nature includes critters, and not all critters are friendly.

  • Bugs: Take precautions against ticks, mosquitoes, spiders
  • Bear(s): Navarro staff have seen a bear in the past. This is why there is no composting on site. Do not leave food, scraps, or trash out or around your campsite.
  • Don’t set your tent over a hole in the ground! You may be obstructing the entrance to a critter’s home and you don’t want them trying to get out through your tent floor.

WATER!

Water safety guidelines:

  • There is no lifeguard — we watch out for each other
  • Don’t be overly intoxicated in or near the water
  • No glass by the river
  • Small children will be around — keep an eye out for them
  • Kids in/near the water should always be within the reach of a designated adult and should wear PFDs (life vests)
  • River reminder: Drowning doesn’t look like drowning

EARTH!

Yay for being outdoors! Uh-oh, some of the slopes are slippery and rocks are loose. Earth safety guidelines:

  • Wear good shoes if going hiking. (There are good trails across the river. Access via a bridge near River Meadow.)
  • Watch for poison oak and ticks.

This is volunteer-run!

Do you feel better when you have something to do? Volunteer! Before the event starts, fill out the Volunteer Intake Form. If it’s very close to the event or you have questions, then email volunteers@pricelessfestival.org. And during the event, we probably can use an extra hand. Just talk to anyone with a radio.

Are you getting our emails?

If you bought a ticket late, had someone else buy your ticket, or for some other reason aren’t on our ticket-holder email list, sign up for the email list here. Basically everything that goes out on the email list will end up here on the Cheat Sheet too!
